Pilgrimage to the Birth of Mother Teresa
Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska (God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunija, The Happiest Man in the World) presents a bold and unconventional portrait of Mother Teresa of Calcutta in her new film Mother, played by Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Ada). The film focuses on the story of the nun before she became a world-famous figure. Its aim is to explore the real person behind the myth of Mother Teresa, revealing her complexity, ambition, and inner struggle. The film was the opening and competition film in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.
