The enthralling drama Minotaur took home the Grand Prix from Cannes — and will be the opening film for the 13th edition of the Be2Can festival! We warmly invite you to the traditional kick-off of this year’s edition. As always, we will be meeting at the Lucerna cinema.
Before the screening, the festival directors, Ivan and Dominik Hronec, will say a few words.
In this film, director Andrei Zvyagintsev, a filmmaker who ruthlessly criticises the current Russian state, follows the period of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the fate of a middle-class Russian family – Gleb, Galina and their son.
The family lives in a small town where Gleb runs his own business. Their daily lives, like those of their loved ones and fellow citizens, are turned upside down by the outbreak of the conflict. Some leave for the West, whilst others are called up for military service, including many of Gleb’s employees, which threatens the very existence of his business.
